The Methodist tradition of which I am a part was part of a significant endeavor. It presented Christ to an old country, England. It also presented Christ to a new country, the United States. Well is wasn't called the United States when Methodists started presenting the Gospel in this part of the world.
We are living in new times. The time is still marked with opportunity to present Christ to the world. That effort now moves from saddlebacks, to automobiles, to computers and into the Internet.
We on the Bishop Circuit, which now includes, Bishop UMC, and High Shoals UMC, south of Athens, GA, now extend ourselves for Christ's sake into a domain, a media, that many are now exploring.
We offer this blog experience to skeptics, seekers, nonbelievers, and believers.
We keep in mind that crowds shouted for the crucifixion of the Christ. We keep in mind that Wesley was mugged by angry crowds.
However, we, (I in particular) seek peace, love, and joy. These are all to rare in our world. It is our hope that interactions in this blog will reflect intensity, but also respect.
Most of all, we hope that somehow, someway, Jesus as the Christ will come through the human interactions that take place here.
